Full text: Sabine Kleinert is Deputy Editor at The Lancet and Research Integrity and Risk Management Lead for The Lancet Group of journals. She is a member of the Leadership Team of The Lancet Group. She served as Vice-Chair of the Committee on Publication Ethics from 2006 to March 2012 and was involved in the Conferences on Research Integrity from their beginning in 2007. She was a member of the Governing Board of the World Conferences on Research Integrity Foundation until 2025 and was Co-Chair of the 3rd (Montreal, Canada, 2013), 4th (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, 2015) and 7th World Conference on Research Integrity (Cape Town, South Africa, 2022). Full text: Lex Bouter obtained a MSc degree in Medical Biology at Utrecht University and joined Maastricht University in 1984, where he was trained as an epidemiologist and obtained his PhD. In 1988 he published a textbook on epidemiology, the seventh revised Dutch edition of which appeared in 2016 and the first English edition in 2018. In 1992, he took up a tenured position as Professor of Epidemiology in Amsterdam. From 2006 until 2013 he was Rector Magnificus of his university.Subsequently, Professor Bouter prepared for a return to science during a sabbatical leave. In 2014 his tenured professorship was broadened to Methodology and Integrity. He is currently involved in teaching and research regarding responsible conduct of research, questionable research practices and research misconduct. He was appointed as tenured Professor of Epidemiology in 1992 and served his university as its rector between 2006 and 2013. Professor Bouter has supervised 81 PhD students, of whom to date 17 were appointed as professor. He is the founding chair of the World Conferences on Research Integrity Foundation. In 2017, Professor Bouter organized and Co-chaired the 5th World Conference on Research Integrity in Amsterdam, the 6th World Conference on Research Integrity in Hong Kong in 2019, the 7th World Conference on Research Integrity in Cape Town in 2022, and is chair of the World Conferences on Research Integrity Foundation.

Full text: Professor Mai Har Sham is the Pro-Vice-Chancellor/ Vice-President (Research) and Choh-Ming Li Professor of Biomedical Sciences of the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). Professor Sham oversees the strategic development of research, innovation, entrepreneurship, knowledge transfer and impact in CUHK. As a developmental geneticist, she leads a research team focusing on the molecular mechanisms of mammalian development and human congenital disorders. Professor Sham has been a Governing Board member of the World Conferences on Research Integrity Foundation (WCRIF) since 2019. She served as a Co-Chair for the 6th WCRI held in Hong Kong in 2019, a Co-Chair of the Asia and Pacific Rim Research Integrity (APRI) Network Meeting in 2017 (Hong Kong) and 2025 (Bangkok). She has been a member of the Jury of the Einstein Foundation Award for Promoting Quality in Research since 2023.

Full text: Dr Daniel Barr is a Principal Research Integrity Advisor at RMIT University, Australia. Prior to joining RMIT University, he worked in research management at the University of Melbourne and Deakin University. Dr Barr has also worked as a biomedical scientist in Australia and the United States. Specialising in research integrity and ethics, Dr Barr has developed and implemented initiatives in policy, education and training, and support services that aim to enhance the responsible conduct of research at universities. He also conducts research in research integrity, and is working to develop Guiding Principles for Research Integrity for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation. Dr Barr has a BSc (Hons) and a PhD in immunology from the University of Melbourne. He is a Training Fellow of the Australasian Research Management Society and an Honorary Senior Fellow of the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Melbourne. Dr Barr serves as a committee member of the Asia-Pacific Research Integrity Network and of the World Conferences on Research Integrity Amsterdam Agenda Advisory Committee. Dr Barr was Co-chair of the 6th World Conference on Research Integrity.
