Professor Mai Har Sham is the Pro-Vice-Chancellor/ Vice-President (Research) and Choh-Ming Li Professor of Biomedical Sciences of the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). Professor Sham oversees the strategic development of research, innovation, entrepreneurship, knowledge transfer and impact in CUHK. As a developmental geneticist, she leads a research team focusing on the molecular mechanisms of mammalian development and human congenital disorders. Professor Sham has been a Governing Board member of the World Conferences on Research Integrity Foundation (WCRIF) since 2019. She served as a Co-Chair for the 6th WCRI held in Hong Kong in 2019, a Co-Chair of the Asia and Pacific Rim Research Integrity (APRI) Network Meeting in 2017 (Hong Kong) and 2025 (Bangkok). She has been a member of the Jury of the Einstein Foundation Award for Promoting Quality in Research since 2023.
