Oral Presentation Award

The Oral Presentation Award celebrates early career professionals presenting their research through oral presentations at WCRIs.

Abstracts by Early Career Researchers and Professionals accepted for oral presentation will be evaluated for eligibility for an Oral Presentation Awards. For each of the oral presentation abstracts with the highest review scores, judges will observe and score the oral presentations during the Oral Sessions. Awards will be given to the oral presentations with the highest combined mean scores.

Three Oral Presentation Awards will be granted for early career professionals presenting in-person. Awards will be based on the following criteria:

  • Academic content/significance – Clarity of research question and hypothesis (for hypothesis-driven research); Suitability of methodological design; Interpretation of results and conclusions.
  • Quality of presentation – Verbal communication skills; Knowledge of the subject; Visual effectiveness of the presentation; Response to questions.
