  • Full text: Professor Sham has delivered plenary and keynote lectures on the roles of universities on research integrity issues in different continents. She was an organizer of the Asia-Pacific Research Integrity Network meeting in Hong Kong in 2017, the Co-Chair for the 6th World Conference on Research Integrity held in Hong Kong in 2019. Professor Sham obtained her PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Cambridge. She received her postdoctoral training in Developmental Genetics in the National Institute for Medical Research in London, U.K. She had previously served as the Associate Vice-President (Research); Assistant Dean (Research), Head of the Department of Biochemistry, Director of the Centre for Reproduction Development and Growth in the Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine, the University of Hong Kong.

  • Full text: Dr Daniel Barr is a Principal Research Integrity Advisor at RMIT University, Australia. Prior to joining RMIT University, he worked in research management at the University of Melbourne and Deakin University. Dr Barr has also worked as a biomedical scientist in Australia and the United States. Specialising in research integrity and ethics, Dr Barr has developed and implemented initiatives in policy, education and training, and support services that aim to enhance the responsible conduct of research at universities. He also conducts research in research integrity, and is working to develop Guiding Principles for Research Integrity for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation. Dr Barr has a BSc (Hons) and a PhD in immunology from the University of Melbourne. He is a Training Fellow of the Australasian Research Management Society and an Honorary Senior Fellow of the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Melbourne. Dr Barr serves as a committee member of the Asia-Pacific Research Integrity Network and of the World Conferences on Research Integrity Amsterdam Agenda Advisory Committee. Dr Barr was Co-chair of the 6th World Conference on Research Integrity.
