Mark S. Frankel, PhD, directs the Scientific Responsibility, Human Rights and Law Program at the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). He has organized several projects on research integrity and scientific misconduct, including more than a dozen workshops for university administrators, bench scientists, post-docs and graduate students and the production of a series of case studies on video for educational use. He was on the Institute of Medicine committee that produced the report, Integrity in Scientific Research: Creating an Environment That Promotes Responsible Conduct (2002). Dr. Frankel was on the planning committee for the 2nd World Conference on Research Integrity, Singapore, 2010. He is editor of AAAS's quarterly publication, Professional Ethics Report, and serves on the Science and Ethics Advisory Group at Hoffmann-La Roche-Genentech.
